Comprehensive Environmental Inspection Services, Mold Testing and More
HealthyAir specializes in environmental inspection services, including testing, planning, consulting and remediation. We see many homes where poor building methods, combined with a lack of understanding of building science, have lead to indoor environments that are more conducive to mold growth. If you're not sure if your home has a problem, we recommend having a Level One Inspection done or Indoor Air Survey – an in-home evaluation process that determines the quantity and size of the particulates in your air and the moisture levels in your home.
With three levels of environmental inspections, we give our customers options to choose exactly what they need. Whether you are looking for a basic inspection of your home or complete testing, documentation and assistance in the remediation process, we can help. We know you will be pleased with the peace of mind you will get from having a professional evaluate your home and provide you with a custom plan for creating a healthy living environment.
Level One: Basic Inspection
- Mold Survey: Includes a visual inspection of conditioned spaces, crawl spaces, attic and HVAC (heating, cooling and ventilation) system to determine if visual mold is present and if conditions exist to sustain mold growth. Moisture measurements in building materials will be taken in red flag areas including hardwood flooring, sub-flooring, sheetrock, concrete slabs, basement slabs and basement walls.
- Air Quality Assessment: This is done with the use of a laser beam particle scan. The computer counts the number of particles in a cubic foot of air. This is one of the tests used by the EPA to determine the air quality index.
- Issues that can result in mold growth will be discussed in detail. Recommendations will be made on how to eliminate and prevent future mold growth and how to reduce allergenic air-borne particulates
Price is $125 plus $.75 per mile over 50 miles.
Level Two: Inspection Plus Testing
- Includes Level One Mold Survey and Air Quality Assessment
- Site conditions will determine the type of fungal samples taken. Samples may include a mix of air, tape lifts, swabs, carpets, bulk samples and wall cavity samples. One sample outside is taken for comparison.
- Testing includes a minimum of two fungal samples – one inside the home and one outside the home for comparison. In some cases, more than two samples will be necessary.
- Issues that can result in mold growth will be discussed in detail. Recommendations will be made on how to eliminate and prevent future mold growth and how to reduce allergenic air-borne particulates.
- A laboratory report will include a description of the fungus found in samples, their possible health effects and whether elevated levels or uncommon mold conditions exist.
Price is $335 - includes 2 air samples. Each additional sample is $105. Travel charge is $.75 per mile over 50 miles
Level Three: Damage Assessment and Remediation Protocol
- Includes Level One Inspection
- Includes Level Two Testing
- Damage Assessment: Includes a full report on property damaged by mold, including pictures of damaged areas.
- Remediation Protocol: Provides a written protocol that may be used by owners who are seeking bids from remediation companies. By using a protocol, the owner is ensured that companies are bidding on the same scope of work and adhering to processes that protect the owner’s building against cross contamination. A protocol helps reduce unnecessary property damage and ensures a comprehensive remediation/cleaning. The protocol includes recommendations for storage of movable items while work is being performed as well as a recommendation for items that should be cleaned or discarded.
Price is $700 for most homes and includes 2 air samples. Each additional sample is $105. Travel charge is $.75 per mile over 50 miles
When cleaning/remediation is performed by other companies, post remediation testing is provided for $125 plus $105 for each test sample.
