Healthy Air USA uses thermal imaging to locate air leaks in building envelopes (exterior walls) and wall cavities containing air ducts based on temperature differentials. These air leaks allow moisture and humidity to enter wall cavities and conditioned spaces of the home.  This result is moisture condensing on surfaces cooled by the air conditioner – a condition that supports and sustains mold growth.  

It is important to note that the screening process is more effective with greater temperature variance between inside and outside air.  It should be done when the difference is about 15 degrees or greater.  When investigating for mold it is better to perform this service in summer months when conditions are most likely to be present to support mold growth.
